History/ Facts:

Pokonobe has served visitors from around the world for 5 decades. Built and operated by the Barrett Family until 1998, Pokonobe has always been a special venue for outdoor activities, spectacular scenery and family fun. Since being acquired by the Brooks Family in 1998, Pokonobe has been enhanced to provide a friendly full service environment. We’re actively compiling the history of Pokonobe and invite you to revisit our site soon to enjoy “The Story of Pokonobe: A History Worth Remembering.”

Twin Lakes Art Gallery

Located on Lake Mary Road, just one mile from Pokonobe is the Twin Lakes Art Gallery. Established in 1934, the Gallery is the original and longest continuously run Art Gallery in the Mammoth Lakes area. The Gallery specializes in original art created by the finest artists in the Eastern Sierra. Visitors will also enjoy the hand-made jewelry, gifts and unique collectables. Pokonobe & Twin Lakes Gallery are authentic examples of "Old Mammoth" and respectful preservations of local tradition. We hope you will take a moment to visit the Gallery on your way to or from the Mammoth Lakes Basin.
